Most servers PSU's run high efficiency so they will yield about 70-80% of the VA in watts and most servers use around 45-85% of the full potential of their power supply so in most cases the default VA will support your server. Example instance, you have a "400watt PSU", take (400+43%85% = 486), so 486VA is the approximate maximum power usage for a server running a 400 watt PSU or ( 400+25%45% = 225) 225VA as a minimum. Should power usage go over the plan allocation it is calculated using the current rates. If you have concerns about this please give us a call and we can help you calculate your servers usage before you send it to our data centre.
